Indigenous Peoples’ Day Walk

Philly Indigenous Peoples’ Day Committee (PIPDC) invites you to to join us on Sunday, October 10th at 10AM to walk in Peace, Unity and Respect to our Ancestors, Culture, and Heritage. We will gather at City Hall and walk down Market Street to Front Street, ending at the statue of Chief “Sachem” Tamanend, the Lenape Chief. The Native and Indigenous community is invited to dress in regalia.
Elders, families with children, and our relatives with mobile or other disabilities have two opportunities to join the march!:
RAIN OR SHINE
(1) Lead us as we walk from City Hall
to Front Street
(2) Join us at 11am at 5th & Market
Accessibility Notes: The walk is 1.1 miles & is mostly flat. We will be walking directly above the El on Market and you can catch it at 13th, 11th, 8th, 5th and get off at 2nd for Front Street. We are working to confirm all stops have working elevators.
Immediately following the Walk to Chief “Sachem” Tamanend statue on Sunday, October 10th from 12PM-4PM we will be celebrating the 11th Annual Philly Indigenous Peoples Day at 3000 S. 56th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19143. The event will featuring dancers, drummers, speakers, vendors, children’s activities and more!
