Bicycle Wheel Building Class

April 25 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Just added to the calendar!

This 8-hour class offers the full experience of wheel building science and technique. Students will learn about:

*types of rims & spokes
*lacing patterns
*calculating spoke lengths
*spoke tension
*wheel dishing
*truing stands, tensiometers and other *tools
*spoke thread preparation

Over the course of the day, every student will build a wheel from start to finish. In a small group setting of no more than four students, this class will be cerebral, hands-on, and fun!

These classes will be taught by CAT expert mechanic and Barnett Bicycle Institute graduate, Bill Meiklejohn.

Note: all materials (rim, hub, spokes, tools) will be provided for building a practice wheel during the class. (Note: wheel not included with the class fee).

Future resources provided at the class: a recommended reading list will be provided at the class, USB thumb drive including spoke length calculator, hub and rim measurement forms.

Upcoming dates for our courses are listed below and on the CAT Bicycling Classes Calendar.
