2023 Write Stuff Conference–Day 2
March 24 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 pm
Another day of networking and learning at our first in-person Write Stuff Conference since 2019.
Morning Program (8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon)
Kathryn Craft, “Say That and More: Writing Effective Dialogue”
In this workshop, you will participate in a series of exercises that will challenge you to improve your own dialogue writing. Prepare to leave with a whole new respect for this multi-tasking tool—and perhaps the germ of a new story idea, as well.
12:00 noon-12:50 p.m.
Afternoon Program (1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.)
Maria V. Snyder, “Can You Hear Me Now? Audiobooks 101”
As life’s pace increases daily, more and more readers are listening to audio books as they commute to work, do household chores, exercise, and during long drives. This workshop will focus on all things audio books, from deciding if you should give your publisher audio rights or do it yourself. And how to go about producing an audio book.
Evening Program (7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.)
Dianna Sinovic, “Mini-Blueprint for a Book”
Do you have an idea for a novel but don’t know where to start? Or do you have a WIP that’s not jelling and need help with next steps? This workshop will walk you through the blueprint method of developing or revising a novel. Answering key questions about your work will give you the tools you need to move forward.
